The beginning of this story began with a timeline note saying: Thirty Years Before That Moment. I do not have any idea what that moment is . So I’m going to assume that this is about a future book in the series.

I dove quickly into this book, learning to detest the thought of governments, rules and I also balled my heart out. This book took me on such a rollercoaster of emotions it is unreal. The thought of how easily this all happened to Allan is frightening, mainly due to the simple fact that you could see this happening in reality.

Allan was taken from his home and thrown into an army camp where he was treated atrociously, while being trained alongside the other recruits. Why was he treated so badly? Simply because the government couldn’t get a hold of his Uncle.

This is the bases of the story, and as it unravels you join Allan on a journey so heart-breaking and filled with hope, it quite literally devastates you. Once you’ve finished this book it stays with you for a long, long time afterwards. I highly recommend this book. I also recommend a big box of tissues and at least an hour after reading it to try and compose yourself. This book is heart-breaking, beautiful and totally addictive.
