Sweet Ruin by Kresley Cole my review

Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

You know those books that grab you by the hand and tug you gently into their world? They wrap you in their story, the characters whispering their words to you in a gentle voice, well this is not one of them. Sweet Ruin drags you into its world, granted there was no resistance from me, I willingly fell into it. The story unraveled before me, revealing itself in all its beauty and heartache. The characters fierce and beautiful with an aching vulnerability so deep inside them you could almost miss it.

Jo is a kicka** heroine you can’t help be in awe of while Rune is one hell of a sexy hero you could easily fall in love with after you knocked some sense into him. These two characters are combustible, amazing and seriously awesome. This book sucks you in and doesn’t spit you out until hours after you’ve read the final words and even then it stays with you. Yes I loved this book, and yes I will definitely read it again and again. Kresley Cole is one of those authors who’s writing literally comes alive, and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this outstandingly brilliant series.

The Review:

Growing up, orphaned Josephine has never known who or what she was, just that she was “bad” an outcast with strange powers. Protecting her baby brother Thaddeus became her entire life. The day he was taken away from her, changed her, transforming her from an angry girl into a would-be superhero, into an enchanting villain.

Weather by bow or bed, archer Rune the Baneblood never fails to eliminate his target. In his sights is the oldest living Valkyrie, yet before he can strike, he encounters a vampiric creature whose beauty mesmerizes him. With just one bite, she pierces him with aching pleasure, stealing his forbidden blood, and jeopardizing the secrets of his brethren.

Rune knows he mustn’t trust Josephine. For all he knows she could be a spy sent by the Valkyrie he hunts, yet he can’t turn her away. It’s only when Jo betrays the name of the one man she’ll die to protect that she and Ruin become locked in a treacherous battle of wills that pits ultimate loyalties against unbridled lust.
