Once Kissed by Cecy Robson my review

Review courtesy of April Hollingworth

This is the first book in the brand new O’Brian Family series, and it promises to follow Cecy Robson’s other series, another words brilliant and unput-downable. In this heartbreaking, soul searching, laugh out loud book, you meet and fall in love with Curran O’Brian and Tess Newart. They are both suffering from different types of emotional pain, and the only place they find comfort is in each other’s embraces, where passion ignites leaving not only them breathless but the reader too. I loved this book. It had me crying, laughing and furious, and sighing in contentment as well as shouting “Oh my God” and “No” as well as a couple of other things I won’t mention. I honestly can’t wait for the next book, and the one after that etc, to find out more about this wonderful family and the people they fall in love with.

The Review:

Curran O’Brian is a gorgeous smart-mouthed cop who loves his job but due to guilt over his rookie cop being hurt in the line of action, he is suffering from intense nightmares, but all he wants to do is prove he’s still got what it takes to be Phillies finest in blue not babysit for the DA’s office. Well until he catches sight of the woman he’s to watch-but not touch. Tess Newart recognizes Curran instantly. Not surprising as she tied him up with her argyle socks back in college. That sizzling one-night stand is her only indiscretion, and one she’s never forgotten or allowed to repeat again. So far she’s survived law school, despite the unbearable pressure her father is forcing on her to succeed. Now she’s interning on a major case against a ruthless crime boss, and trying to finish off her law degree, distractions is something she won’t allow herself, and temptation is out of the question. If only she can remember that in the presence of Curran in uniform. Tess knows her father has other plans for her. Plans that don’t include Curran, or her own happiness. But soon she’s falling for him all over again, and when danger emerges, Curran will prove just how good a bad-boy cop can be.
