Bayou Beckons by Linda Joyce my review
Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth
This is the third book in the Fleur De Lis series and I devoured it. I found myself really liking the main female character Camilla, especially on how the actions of her past rule her present, and how she has changed herself. She is a strong character and yet a bone deep shame lies deeply inside her ruling her life, to the extent she doesn't believe she deserves happiness for herself.
Then there is Jared, a man who has been deeply hurt and guards his heart yet he also knows what he wants and goes after it. He can't understand why Camilla won't give them a chance, for he knows deep inside that she is for him. They are meant to be. The question is though once he finds out about the betrayal Camilla committed to her sister, will he still believe that she is the woman for him, and can he convince her to take a chance on them?
The Review:
Camilla is the party girl in her family, she has earned that title and lived up to it completely. After sleeping with her sister's fiancé, she knows she has to change and struggles to change. But karmic justice has a habit a kicking you when you least expect it, mainly by bleeding into her present, and destroying any chance of a future with the only man she has ever wanted and could possibly love.
Rancher Jared Richardson guards his heart fiercely after suffering the pain of infidelity. Falling for Camilla, only to find out she has previously betrayed her sister, shocks him to the core. What he never expected to do was follow her across the country to beg her for a second chance at love.
With Hurricane Katrina bearing down on them, will they find a safe haven to weather out the storm, lay past hurts aside and embrace their future, together?
