Primal Heat by A.C. Arthur my review
Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth This is the sixth book in the Shadow Shifter series and the first one I have read. Though each book can be read as a standalone, I found it hard to connect with the characters. Maybe this is because I’m jumping in so far into the series, as though this book is about Eli and Nivea, it is also a continuation of the others in the series. Personally I didn’t connect with characters or story, so this book isn’t for me. That isn’t to say though that someone else won’t love it. I would advise reading the books in this series in order, and to let the connection for the characters and story develop in the order it was written. The Review: Eli Preston has sworn to protect his leader, the most powerful shifter in the human world, defend their alliance and keep his darker instincts in check. Something he manages to do until a beautiful trainee arouses his jaguar senses, and the beast within demands he has her; even though it could jeopardize the deadliest mission of his life. For six long years, Nivea has been waiting for Eli to take her in his arms, unleash his animal urges and claim her as his mate. Once their passion is released in a reckless moment of pure unbridled lust, nothing can ever be the same. Battlelines are drawn, man versus animal, shifter versus shifter. Eli must be prepared to fight for his life and his love, or he will lose Nivea forever. FTC Advisory: Annie Hulkower through Net Galley provided me with a copy of Primal Heat by A.C. Arthur.
