The Sacrifice by A.J. Nuest my review

Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

The Sacrifice is the second part of the wildly addictive, The Golden Key Legacy. Faedrah and Rhys find themselves in desperate need of advice. Both are determined to protect the other no matter what. Answers are revealed and a trust is needed if they are to come out with a plan that just might save Faedrah’s kingdom and people as well as their own lives. I must admit AJ has done it again. She literally takes you on a journey that you will happily dance along the unknown path knowing you will have an adventure of epic proportions. I can’t wait to read the next part of this wonderfully exhilarating series.

Opening Scene:

I’m going to fucking kill him.

The Review:

With his life turning into a story from the Grimm’s fairy tales with him cast in the role of the evil villain, Rhys McEleod is finding it difficult to figure out his path in this saga. The only thing he knows for definite is his desire to protect Faedrah no matter what. Even if he can’t figure out the details. With the mirror inside the armoire finally open, seeing his beloved’s parents isn’t helping matters, especially as his bloodline must be kept secret.

A showdown is nearing, a map must be found and Rhys and Faedrah’s very lives are on the line. There is no clear path to save her people and kingdom, all they know is they are destined to be together and will fight together. Yet a leap of faith is needed to be taken, a leap beyond their wildest imagings.

Notable Scene:

“Come here.” He lowered his hand, wincing, but no matter how much he blinked the vision in his right eye refused to focus.

“I do not deserve your forgiveness or your love.” Her hair shimmered down her back like a blanket of stars as she shook her head. “I have failed.”

Her whisper was so soft, he thought at first he’d misheard her, and the thump of tires over potholes and blare of horns from congested lakefront traffic didn’t help. He needed her closer. To figure out a way to reassure her. Whatever “failure” had happened between her and Leo, Rhys would bet the keys to his bike she wasn’t to blame. She had no clue she’d be running into him tonight and, in typical Leo fashion, the asshole had enjoyed every second of his little stunt. “It’s not your fault. Leo set you up. Hell, he’d set us both up.”
