50 Ways to Ruin a Rake by Jade Lee
Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth
Okay, I love Jade Lee’s books. She is funny and vivid with her descriptions, bringing you right into the story and making you feel as if you are there, watching it unravel before your eyes. This is the first book in the brand new series, Not Quite Ladies and can be read as a standalone. Personally I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Trevor and Mellie are wonderful characters; they are smart and compelling, perfect for each other, yet not what they want. Then there is a host of other characters that just bring this book together and make you laugh. A must read, I loved it.
The Review:
Mellie Smithson is trapped in the country with no suitors and no prospects on the horizon except to marry her cousin or the exasperating though admittedly handsome guest of her father’s. She’s looking for any excuse to go to London to meet more eligible men. Trevor Anaedsley’s grandfather has cut off his funds until he is engaged. Escaping to the country to visit his old tutor Mr. Smithson and duck his creditors, Trevor realizes the obvious solution to his problem is Mellie. The only problem is she has ideas of her own, and her own solution to solve. Can these unlikely pair get what they both are looking for or will life take them where they never expected to go?
