Claimed by Earth by Delwyn Jenkins my review

Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

This is the second book in the fantastic The Watchtower Chronicles. It carries on straight from where the first book left off, but, from Mycah’s and Sebastian’s story. It is wonderful, fast paced, and exciting. Mycah is a strong independent and feisty witch that has been hurt and betrayed so badly in her past that she finds it hard to trust anyone. But, once she lets someone into her circle of friendship she will do anything to protect them, even if it means sacrificing herself.

Sebastian is wonderful, strong, smart, sexy and protective. He is a Knight in every sense of the meaning. And he has fallen for Mycah, a witch that has the power by rejecting him to shatter his hopes and dreams, yet he willingly will do anything to help her. I adore Sebastian and Mycah so very much. I cannot wait for the next book in this amazing series, and to dive into another Watchtower Knight’s and his witch’s story.

Opening Scene:

Mycah Dunleavy was going to hell, and not the regular kind of hell either.

The Review:

Mycah Dunleavy has two goals in life, protect her friends and defend the world below. To do this, she must become the most powerful witch. But all power comes at a price. Already she’s broken the cardinal sin in harming others with her magic to protect her friends. And to save the world she must combine a powerful ritual with a Watchtower Knight, even though she can’t stand to be touched.

Sebastian wants to claim Mycha as his own. He plans to woo her gently and slowly, until she comes up with a plan to use him and then discard him. He won’t go easily without a fight.

But danger is creeping closer and time is running out. Mycha and Sebastian must learn to work together before there is nothing left of their Worlds to defend.

Notable Scene:

“Turn back,” she shouted over thundering hoof beats.

Sebastian didn’t even look at her. “What?”

“I said turn back.”

“No.”

Arrogant bastard. Not “Why, Mycah?” or “Tell me what you’re thinking as we ride on, Mycah” but a blunt, no room for negotiation “no”. This was one of the many reasons she hated alpha males and, unfortunately for her, the Watchtower Knights didn’t come in any other flavor.

Grabbing a handful of shirt, she pulled herself up so she was almost nose to nose with Sebastian. “If I don’t do something now, we’re all dead. And I can’t do anything until you turn me around.”

He offered her a brief, wintery glare and then returned his attention to the shadowy trees whizzing by. Mycah ground her teeth at his stupidity and at the fact that she was going to have to force his hand. Twisting around so her back pressed against him, she made herself relax, lulling him, waiting for the moment he would ease the cast-iron hold he had on her waist.

The split-second she felt his muscles soften she threw herself sideways, doing her best to launch herself out of the saddle while praying with everything in her that Sebastian was fast enough and strong enough to haul her back. And haul her back he did, with brutality that was not entirely necessary and language so profane it almost blistered her skin.
