The Writer's Blog Tour

So the wonderful and talented author Lori Lesko nominated me to take part in this Blog Tour. Thank you Lori. Well I’m currently writing The Prophecy book 2 in the Candi Reynolds series. I can’t say too much about it as the first book Double Magick in the Falls will be released soon and I don’t want to give anything away. How does my work differ from others in my genre? Hmmm, well I suppose it differs because there is such a wide range of the paranormal, romance and mystery thrown into it. Why do I write what I do? I write what I do, because I love it. When I’m writing I feel like I’m being transported into the world I’m creating and am experiencing everything. It’s exciting and thrilling. Then when I see it completed in front of me, it’s such an amazing feeling. Both exciting and nerve-racking too. Anyway my poor brain would feel as if it’s about to explode if I didn’t get my stories down, instead of having them running around like a rabbit. How does my writing process work? I start off with an idea that just pushes forward in my brain, until I finally write it down. Normally it doesn’t lead me anywhere. With Double Magick in the Falls, my process was different. It started off with a map forming in my head which I drew, then the name of the fictional town came to me and Candi introduced herself so to speak to me. From that one map the story unveiled itself as I was writing it down. I’m a fly by the pants of her seat kind of writer, though I do know things that will happen in the next two books in the series after The Prophecy, as well as their titles. I must admit I do love the whole process. I also read loads, I’m totally addicted to reading and the whole read what you write and know is spot on.

Okay so that’s me and now I nominate DJ Shaw Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1977, DJ Shaw was 17 before she was able to see most of the United States. When she was 17, she decided to join the fair, traveling with them to Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Once the fair arrived in Lake Charles, DJ had decided it was time to go home, that she had had enough of traveling with the fair. She much rather preferred to sit around writing, or even telling, the lives of the people who lived in her head. She had been good at story-telling from the time she was about ten, when she scared herself so bad with her story of the Boogey-man that she couldn’t move off her bed. Her siblings would come to her for their scare fix, because they knew she could come up with something on the spot. Having found what she loved to do at an early age, she continued to write down her stories and any poetry that came into her head. She had stacks upon stacks of notebooks filled with her work. Her love of horror movies made her stories that much more chilling. When she’s not writing, she’s listening to music, supporting her favorite adopted brother and his band “Traveler in Pain”, playing with her five children, spending time with her husband of seven years or watching horror movies in the middle of the night just for the scare factor.
